Title: Water cooled chest circ motor mod
Post by: johnieG on July 17, 2019, 02:37:57 pm
I helped Pat Pixley out putting the refrigeration back in order on a customer’s Westinghouse standard wet-chest, we got the agitator motor ( water-bath circulation pump) from Funtronics, but as this motor sits a bit higher than the old stock unit I had to make up some mounts to adapt it to the old mounting points as shown in the pictures that follow.... good stuff for future reference for others who are rebuilding a similar model.

The new mounts worked out well enough, but the motors housing was still too high , which interfered with the stainless cover for the cooling coils, so I had to drill a few new holes into the evaporator coils bottom section (shroud base)  in order to allow the top cover to fit back into place.
