Title: Pepsi 81 vmc for sale houston craigslist
Post by: jukeboxdon70 on October 07, 2018, 10:56:42 am
I have decided to sell my Pepsi 81 VMC. Pics and info can be found on Houston craigslist if anyone is interested. I had the intention of restoring but will be moving and just don’t have time. It is a complete machine, but is disassembled. New chrome and a recently restored coin mech. you can contact me directly at donahawnselfexpress@gmail.com if you have questions. Thanks

Market value for a Pepsi 81 needing restoration IMO is $3,000.

Maybe even less ? Rod sold a VMC 7 Up in nice shape needing restoration $4200. Another member bought a 85% restored 7up a while back fo $4000 + The machine market is really soft and with the holidays coming up maybe even more so . I know I couldn’t (wouldn’t Personal Horder) sell any of mine knowing id couldn’t break even on them in this market right now .

This machine was priced very fairly..................at $2500.00
The plus.+............... the seller had added almost $1000.00 worth of plating to it.
The minus.--............ the machine had been completely dis-assembled and could only be verified as complete if the buyer were picking it up in person.
This also made purchases difficult for on-line buyers, not only to get a quote on the shipping of the Pepsi machine shell and inner liner, but also for the compressor and all the parts boxes.
Unfortunately, this machine would have been worth a lot more if it were still intact  :darn:

But it did sell, so I don't think it was a bad deal for either the seller or the buyer.

Those 2 machines you are referencing were great deals for someone, I don't think that is a reflection on the market. Can't ever see a Pepsi 81 dipping below the 3K range as an average. But who knows, time will tell.

All I can say is different areas bring different values .And local is the best way . Ad I’ve seen 3 Pepsi machine in the last year go for less the $3000 . One went for $2200  but hey I don’t know anything .Im not in it for the $ anyway but I still say the market is extremely soft for all machine value . I own a very nice Distributor repainted no rust New Mexico VMC 7up that I gave over $6000 a few years back and it was a great deal then (According to most members then ) . I don’t belieive I can get close to it now with the market values being seen by most .

Just my  View !!!!   :tounge:

If Rod sold his VMC 7-up needing restoration for $4200, and it looks like he sold it within hours, why couldn't you get (at least) $6000 for yours with a nice factory repaint?

Many sellers have good ruputations so items sell quicker !!  Not saying members above don’t but seems like from power buyer and seller items sell quicker !!
