Title: VMC 27 Counter Top Compressor
Post by: Victor on June 08, 2018, 07:47:45 pm
I'm confused about the way my VMC 27 counter top compressor runs,  when i plug it in both the fan and compressor start, it keeps running then half hour later the fan stops, compressor keeps running. Fan comes back on in another half hour, and the compressor never stops running . Ran for 1 hour and got to 41 degrees, i replaced the relay with a 3and 1. It Does not have a thermostat, it has a temperature control. I thought that the fan should run all time and compressor shuts off and on. Need help Please ...   Victor

Holy crisscross applesauce Batman!!!
The way you’ve described it I’d say the fan & compressor are wired completely bass-acwards .

Rewire it by exchanging the hot wires between the fan motor & the compressor feed..

PS, a temperature control is a still thermostat  :tounge:

Thank Jhonie  G , i checked the wires and took out the 3 and 1. Put the relay back in and wired it to the wiring diagram in book.I replaced  the fan motor beforer I put it back together , I put one in from funtrocis 11D,   Dayton part no. 4M195. When the fan stops and the compressor is running I checked the fan and it was to hot to touch , It is thermo protected and I think it is shuting down because it is to hot, If it cools for about 5 to 10 minuets the fan will start back up.  When temp reached 34 degres both fan and copressor stopped at same time.   Victor

I think I found the problem, the fan and motor i got from funtronics, the fan did not push enough air and the motor wiould get to hot and shud off. I replaced the fan with orginal fan  and no problem.  The orginal fan had more curve to it and moves more ir.

Yeah, the clearances on the 27 are tight, while the OEM fan blades conform to the curve of th evaporator housing sides deflector “cone” , the replacements tend to be a bit too straight-sided & it can cause clearance issues.
