Title: Chicagoland Coin-Op April 2018
Post by: Ross on April 03, 2018, 11:51:31 am
Hi everyone,

Just curious who is going to the show this week?  Haven't seen anything posted on it.  Also, anyone meeting at Portillo's Thursday evening?

I've been told this will be the last coin-op show at this location... After this April Pheasant Run will no longer have the show there... Kinda sad .. How long has this show been at this location?

When I started going to the show, there were the normal two rooms and one parking lot but there was another building and another parking lot full of stuff across the street.  Prices were great and people mainly sold items that were not restored, the good old days (Pre Ebay days).  Not sure of the date.  Over twenty-five years is my guess.

Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, in Rosemont Illinois, would be the next location, in my opinion.  Biggest draw back would be no outside parking lot, but a nice huge facility.  Better hotels and restaurants, beer (for impulse buys), and minutes from my home  .

I used to go there a decade ago when they opened just one building, last fall they used both buildings and they were jammed full.
This is good news, Chicagoland is expanding!   :happydrinkers:

Grayslake is practically the same distance as Pheasant Rundown from my house.  294 with expensive tolls is the same distance but my cheap butt will take 94.  Either way has expressway and no downtown Chicago.  I may enjoy this Novembers travels.

Wow, I didn't know they were moving. I too remember when it was All used stuff and not all restored. The building across the street is where the bargains we're!
