Title: Vmc 27
Post by: cohammer on April 27, 2017, 09:53:19 pm
Ok picked this up at auction . Looks like it tumbled down a hill , on the bright side it is complete and working . How hard would it be to get the front back to correct shape ? Would it be better to just leave it alone . Has green paint underneath what ever color That is . Any restoration advice appreciated.

I wouldn't leave it as is. Something has to be done to that machine.

It didn't roll down a hill!    Back in those days when your nickle got stuck, it was a general rule that you must beat on the machine
(or kick it) until either the coin returned or a Coke came out.
Pepsi made their machines out of steel so this damage wasn't as bad, but all Coke versions are aluminum and most are dented.
Remove the door liner and you will find 90% of your dents can be reversed and just pushed out by hand.
