Title: Jacob 56 Pepsi
Post by: genudoc on May 06, 2014, 08:21:53 pm
So what is real value for nice unrestored original
I have seen 5k up to 10k
It should be worth a lot since it is the holy grail

Also any idea on how many were made in that 1 year period ?

I think 5000.00-7000.00 is a good range for a really nice original. I think 10,000 is pushing it unless it just came out of a crate from 1952. If no one knows the answer we could start with serial numbers. Mine is serial# 301490. Maybe if we compile some serial numbers it may give us an idea. That is if they went in some kind of order with numbers. Just a thought.

There doesn't seem to be a pattern. I thought maybe the serial numbers would be a difference of only hundreds. That serial number is about 100,000 off of mine. Maybe the first numer 3 designated production in 1953 and the 2 was production in 1952?? Just a thought.

So far they either begin with a 2 or 3 so we will see if the theory of 1952 and 1953 continues or if something pops up with a different starting number. I will also post any serial numbers I find as well.
