Title: VENDO 81 A VALUE
Post by: jbrumett on March 17, 2013, 08:40:42 pm
Going to buy a machine this weekend and the seller informs me that he has a Vendo 81 A for sale as well. I'm not up to speed on the A models so what are they going for right now?

Here is all I know about the machine.....

Good solid machine with no rust

Does not run

Its 100% Complete with all parts intact.

No pictures are available and I told him that's fine since I am going to be there anyway. This clearly would be a machine I would turn around and sell as is if I bought it to make a few bucks to fund my addiction. That being said, any help would be appreciated given the limited information you have to work with. Just not sure what kind of offer to make after I see it.

without pictures, it's hard to answer...I know around me, what you described goes for $2000 or more...even with the compressor not working. You can find them cheaper, but you have to be the early worm to get it.

No worries here because he is not even advertising its for sale. We just happened to be talking about other stuff he had and it came up in conversation. He had no intentions of selling it until I asked about a package deal for the two machines.

First off, what machine are you buying from him because we all here want to know.

On the A, it's always a little less the the B and D. Like someone else said, need pictures. A guess would be $1,500 if rough, $2,000 if avg., $2,500 for clean original.

Keep us posted.

If it was working I'd say $2500 all day. Non-working I tend to agree with $2k.

by the looks of those prices you need to look at the two listed on the old gas web site, there is a pepsi 81 and a coca cola 81

Yes, seller had these on CL a few weeks ago, I posted that link. He has a huge backyard full of stuff as I was over there about a year ago. Then nothing was for sale, he told me he was a collector only. He's a real nice guy if anyone here contacts him.

maybe some day I will learn how to add a link.

All you have to do is go to the web page, click on the web address in the address bar (this should highlight the URL), right click on your mouse and select "Copy" and then when you create your post on SMC, you can right click and select "Paste" and Voila', you are done!

I'd say hes in the ballpark in value... if i had the extra cash laying around I might bite on that ? even though the Coke 81b is missing some parts not too major in my opinion... the Pepsi.. wouold be better in the 2800-3000 range but who knows...

Good luck to anyone going after them.

I'm wonderin' what kind of sign was screwed onto the Pepsi machine at the same angle as the logo?
