Does any one know if a cap catcher can be made for these? It's the same as the gullwing.

Are you still looking for a cap catcher for this? I believe I still have several left that I made up years ago.

Hello SMC new here ...Been lurking about and like the amount of info that can be found .
  I have 4 machines/coolers that i got for free a few weeks ago and one of them is a Heintz
 pepsi cooler .
  Im looking for a cap catcher for it and was wondering if anyone still has one ?

Hello Unkraut. Welcome to the site. While I cannot help with the catcher may I ask where you are located? Are you looking to sell any of your new machines? Im going to try and restore them ... from looking around on the site and msg board iv IDd the others as a
  General Electric Standard (pepsi) ,VMC H110 (Pepsi) and a  La Cross (RC) from the early 60s. And the Heintz (Pepsi)  .Iv found a tear drop double dot opener on ebay for the Heintz ..
 Also looking for the brass pepsi tag that was riveted to the back of the Heintz ..
The GE standard is missing the lids and compressor ..but has the opener  and cap catcher and louver cover for the bottom  ..
  The VMC 110 is missing the coin mech and handle and hinges for the soda door.. I had keys made for the VMC for 20 $ .
 Iv always wanted an old pepsi machine ..so was very pleased to run across 3 different types from mid century ..

I saw a set of lids just the other day on Craigslist for $40 if memory serves.  It was in the northwest under antiques...I'll try to find it again if it hasn't already been scooped up!  They were your missing lids for the GE pepsi cooler.

I just found it ...posting expired ...for 40 i bet they got snagged quick .

Nice looking machines!  That 110 looks to be in good shape!  Love that Pepsi blue, just don't have one yet.

These look to be the same type lid/s on craigs list ?

Maybe even the same ones you saw before ..They are in the northwest
and he wants 40 for them ...Do you have to be a member to contact the seller ?  I copied the email addy and sent him a line ...but don't know if he will get the msg ...Hopefully he still has them .If i can't contact him could someone here who has a craigslist membership contact him ?

No, Craigslist  is nothing more than local want ads, online. Membersdhip, or dues  is not a requirement

Wow!  Not like those lids are something that is that tough to ship!  Sure wish I had some contacts in Seattle right now, but no one is coming to mind.  Hopefully someone here will chime in!

I ran into a similar problem with shipping when I was looking for pinballs parts.... What I did  was I sent the seller a box with Styrofoam peanuts (got them both from Office Depot) and a prepaid shipper from UPS... all they had to do was put the parts in the box and  call UPS  for a pickup.  The biggest reason people don't like to ship because it's too much of a pain in the A$$ ......Make it really easy for them and most don't mind  Just my two cents worth  Good Luck!!!!

WHAT?!... Is he a hermit? or under house arrest?!!! what the?... All he has to do is drive them to a UPS store or maybe a FedEx and they'll box and ship the whole thing... there has got to be a package/shipping store in his area no wonder he hasn't sold them...
Or do like rayg says.. email him back to get dimensions and weight then send him a box with all the bubble rap
and shipping/postage inside so all he as to do is rap them stick them in the box and get them picked up...

I contacted him again and told him i would ship him a prepaid box both ways .And to send me the approximate weight .

Creighton is in HI right now, but I think he lives in WA (or OR). Maybe when he gets home and settled back in, he could help. Not sure how far from Seattle he is though.

He ( the seller) won't respond to my last email so i guess that means no .

He is in HI (Hawaii) right now. HE will be back in a week or so.

 He pulled the ad for it and told me he threw it in the dumpster because all the respondents wanted to arrange shipping ..and he will not be bothered with it now .

Well there. Now it's boxed up!!! Ask him how much to ship it now??  What an idiot!!

  Eric must be on vacation as i have been unable to contact him for a few months ..He said he would make a tracing of his cap catcher but must be
 preoccupied with his projects ...
 I will pay someone 25 $ for a tracing of their Heintz chest/cooler cap catcher..My Heintz  is done except for the cap catcher ....even a good front and side picture (close up) of it will do .

My Gullwing is in storage right now, but the next time I'm in Spokane I can take some photos of the cap catcher.  I purchased a reproduction catcher that a guy did a run of several years ago.  I wish I could remember his name, seems to me they were about $75.00

Ooops, just read from the beginning and found out you're not talking about a gullwing.

They must not have made as many of the chests as the gullwings ..I can find no real info on the Heintz chest ..Hopefully someone on here
  will run across one ...

I think the crown catcher is the elusive part here. But lids may be needed as well.

Sorry .. I haven't gotten around to getting the catcher off completly yet... one screw came out like day one the other is beyond I've broken 3 new bits trying to drill out... used my Rotozip to try and grind and hit the catcher so I need to get around to getting my dads dremmil tool and buy a bit small enought not to damage the catcher any further... just have to many house projects/problems and Job surplusing going on to deal with fun stuff right now...
Post a pic of the cooler so far would like to see how you did the decals and lettering...

Alright... went downstairs and bent it out and traced it the best I could... will send out tomorrow....
the gauge of this catcher is light I would say a little heavier than a soup can and the top edge is bent over
and inward for a nice clean edge.... made of stainless.

  I did not repaint it all white.. the lid is blue (to much white makes it look like a freezer ) im using some decals for the top of the lid and inside .

Still have a lot to do to it yet ...
 Cap catcher hasn't been mounted yet (just there for looks now)...
 Still need a gasket for it and some knick knacks here and there ...
 Found a good copy of the lid chains in my garage ...I tried 4 different ways to do the red embossing on the front just don't have the talent to do it ...im still going to have it done (embossing) and paint the blue part of the cap catcher ...   I did not want to do the lid in white as it makes it look like an old freezer ...

Are you going to end up paying a sign painter or the like to paint the embossing? Can't wait to see the finished product.

Yes im looking for sign painters in my area ...seems hand lettering is becoming a lost art ...

Just got off the phone with a lady who has been doing freehand and embossed lettering for the last 30 years .
 I emailed her a picture and she called and said she will do it for 25 $..
  Im taking it to her in the morning ...I saw an old cavalier chest that she had hand lettered all the coke logos backs on it.... she is craftsman/person ....

That sounds like a deal!!

I was thinking that also. if you've checked her references, and seen her work, I'd snap that price up in a heartbeat

Wow! That embossing turned out GREAT! You definitely got you money's worth.

That last pic was only like 30Kb, the max is 100kb. They look a lot better at 100.

Im still looking for the lids for my GE standard ....got out bid on a set on ebay a few weeks back they went for 160 or so ...
