Title: Scam alert!
Post by: collecture on August 29, 2009, 03:18:35 pm
I recieved an email from this guy:

Mike Venable
120 Leicester Street
London UK. +447032854710

He answered my SMC Classified ad concerning LD Mech Coin Parts - said he had them. I PM'd Dave to see if he could help as I was a little hesitant about the deal. The guy said he had 4 sets of the parts I was looking for, which is a little suspicious in itself. I can believe that someone may have one or possibly two, but four? I do need four if anyone can help, so take a look at my want ad. Let me know what you might have.

Anyway - beware! This is a scam! Dave did a little Google search and I did as well. I found that he has tried this scam on several sites - bottles.net, etc.

He emailed me about having the VMC 33 parts I was looking for.  I was actually selling the parts in the SMC Classifieds, not wanting them.  I politely explained that to him and didn't hear back from him.
