Title: Vendo 63 Post by: glassbuggy on August 15, 2009, 09:16:24 am Doesn't seem to be a lot of 63 owners posting. Where are you and where do you hang out ?(forum)
I need a picture of the underside of the stainless trim at the top of the bottle door. I am trying to add the door light and dont know what this area looks like tks Bart ps - this is not my machine in the photo, it's one I found that shows the bulb holder Title: Re: Vendo 63 Post by: johnieG on August 15, 2009, 11:00:13 am you'll need to cut a rectangular hole 2-1/2" x 1-3/4" AND make sure your bottle stack has a clearance notch at the top so the wires don't get crushed against it when the door closes ( short-circut city).

Sorry! Title: Re: Vendo 63 Post by: glassbuggy on August 15, 2009, 01:40:29 pm So it's just a hole and no lens ? I believe the socket is the same as the correct change bulb holder and I surmise that the light is tied in to the coke sign switch.

Title: Re: Vendo 63 Post by: glassbuggy on August 15, 2009, 03:09:04 pm both of mine are 1960, One has the lighted Coke sign neither has the door light.
I can't find good pics of this feature, seems there isn't much as far as 63 restoration sites. Nothing of a detailed nature. If you know of some or have any favorites I'd love to see the links. Title: Re: Vendo 63 Post by: bubba on August 15, 2009, 05:02:10 pm I've never needed to go anywhere else, nor do I think there are any other sites like this one... I'll take some close shots of my light setup.
Does your bottle stack have the cutout at the top like the one shown in the picture? If not, thats what JohnieG is talking about. Title: Re: Vendo 63 Post by: bubba on August 15, 2009, 05:07:45 pm is this what you wanted a picture of?
Title: Re: Vendo 63 Post by: Pat Pixley on August 15, 2009, 11:14:00 pm I could see if mine hase one don't remember it is sitting in storage right now waiting in line
to be restored  Title: Re: Vendo 63 Post by: glassbuggy on August 16, 2009, 06:29:47 am My stack has the cutout for the socket clearance.
The picture looks different than my machine. The inside of the bottle door on mine is stainless It looks as if I am going to need that whole assembly, I thought all it needed was a bulb , socket and some wiring. Bart Title: Re: Vendo 63 Post by: bubba on August 16, 2009, 07:57:41 am why don't you post a pic of what you have? If you really wanted to, you could use a dremel and cut the square hole out. You could also make it round. Its just for the light to shine down..
Title: Re: Vendo 63 Post by: zadd on August 16, 2009, 08:20:24 am I might have one . I'll look today if you want it .

Bart Title: Re: Vendo 63 Post by: glassbuggy on August 16, 2009, 06:10:25 pm I found a picture online that shows the setup I have - My stack has the notch that this one doesn't.
This pic shows the stainless trim inside the bottle door and the lack of bulb assembly. Bart Title: Re: Vendo 63 Post by: zadd on August 16, 2009, 06:23:09 pm This came off a v-63 with a bottle light .
