Title: Bill & Ted's Excellent SW Adventure
Post by: collecture on June 10, 2009, 03:11:01 pm
Well Bill & Ted (aka Brian (seven181) & Greg (GreginTex) drove out to AZ yesterday to pick up the cup machines I had been storing for Brian. Long story short - they were expecting to arrive in AZ @ 9pm, but did not get in until 1:30am. Then 3-4 hr. sleep, come by my place chit-chat and get a brief tour, load up the machines and off to p/u a nice Pepsi V-63 I found for Greg and they finally headed out of town @10am for the 16+ hour drive home. I am sure they will start their own excellent thread, but thought I would post a pic of the partial SW contingency.
L to R - myself, CV150-PC 3 flavor, Brian & Greg

It must be nice to wear shorts.  Still cool in Chicago.

Brian, what's the total amount of cup machines to date?

Larry - we can wear shorts in January here in AZ

Pat - I am on the left.
Greg bought the machine I posted about in this thread;
http://soda-machines.com/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=29&topic=9571.msg72234#new

Jim - I agree - I hope one can snooze a little while the other drives and both catch up on sleep a bit. I have made the drive straight through many times and west Texas is brutal - miles and miles of nothing. I used to leave PHX at 2-3am and that would put me in Dallas about 6pm.
They got delayed yesterday with a trailer issue and then ran out of gas 3 miles from the station and had to wait on AAA. It ended up being a 20+ hour day for Brian and Greg wasn't far behind. And after a drive like that you are wired and can't go to sleep for an hour or two. I am sure they'll post something tomorrow.

Well....where to start. Greg and I headed out on Tues morning from Texas to Tom's in AZ to pick up the two 7up Victor Cup machines posted below. I just got home today at 2 pm! After I unloaded the cup machines and Greg's friends's Pepsi box and took the uhaul back, it ended a 53 hour journey!

We had a terrible time waiting on the u-haul tralier, whick cost us 2 hours, we stopped for gas at a station that was out of gas!!!! Then, proceeded to run out of gas ourself's, due to the truck stop being out and then waited on AAA for about 45 mins. Yesterday was a long, challenging day. We did meet Tom though and got the machines and then saw some good finds on the way back.

Greg and I are talking to the owners of a Mills 47, Barq's 81 trans, Nesbitt's Slider, and other machines. Not sure what will happend. The shops we stopped at were close, but all these goodies were just sitting there waiting for us to buy them!

We will let you know what happens. Next adventure is coming soon! Maybe we will be coming to your town! Larry (Mills 400), I now have 13 cup vendors, including 2 Stoner Cafe 500's and a Mills Coffee machine.

Brian

Some of these pics look bogus like taken through a window - did you guys buy them?
I cannot read the first page of the thread anymore as it went blank on me.
I am glad you both made it home safely - with little sleep a long drive can be deadly!
Post some more that I can read and maybe quote your first post from home too.
The cooler in front of the old store appears to be a chameleon taking on the look of the old store!  :tounge:

Here's what was said earlier, Tom.  I'll post a picture of the Mills when I get home.  We haven't bought any of them yet, still working with their owners right now.  Too many stops along the way, but well worth it if we get even one of these!

I'll sleep well tonight!
Greg

Were they at any of my leads to you? Don't worry - I won't intervene or be mad that I gave them to you. Just curious?

Tom,

Most of the stuff we found a few hours east of you. The woopie bowl had a stuff, but we arrived too late to see it.

Here's a picture of the Mills 47 we found on our trip.  I finally was able to get it off my phone!  Sure would LOVE to have this baby sitting in my collection!

Amazing how many goodies pop up available on Craigslist and Ebay in Phoenix AFTER we left there with a partially full trailer!   :darn:
