Thanks about the color...

The color actualy has a story behind it. In 1991 I was getting one of my cars painted I always liked differant colors, and I really wanted this color. It was only made on the 1991 Isuzu Amego. The codes weren't in the books so I had to pretend I wanted to buy one and went to the Isuzu dealer. Took one for a test drive and when I was looking it over, had to memorize the paint codes  I then went to the body shop with the codes and gave them the #'s. when they started painted the car they had to call me since they wanted to make sure I really wanted that color since they never saw anything like it before. So when I had to think of a color for the stoner I picked this color since i still had the codes and now every time I look at it, I'll be reminded of that story.

Jeff, I'm around NE Philly area. Tom is a great guy, he's only like 30-45 min from me.

Looks very nice, it motivates me to start working on my national cigarette machine.  I like the color you picked it should look sweet once finished.

I took apart the vending stack, and painted or polished everything. I'm glad I have an extra one to look at to put this back together! I still haven't worked on the pull area part at the bottom, or put the gum parts back together, but here is what the progress looks like so far.

What are you planning on doing with your machine when it's done? Display in your living room? Sell it? It looks nice!

Looks great, I've always been afraid of taking one apart?  did you paint the parts or powder coat them? also what did you polish the metal parts with ? they look great.

I'm going to be displaying it in my Family room, then in my basement once I re-due it. I'm hoping to have a few of my projects done by next year. Then it will give me a reason to re-due the basement so I can display the things I have nicely.

First I cleaned them all by hand, and used some steal wool on the tuff parts. I could have stoped there since it looked nice once that was done, but then to make it look a little better I just used some aluminum polish on the change mech part, and metal polish on the other parts. I just did it by hand and it looks nice. If I would have used a polishing wheel I think it would have looked like chrome!

Thanks for the comments.

Great looking candy machine. Now you got me looking on ebay and craigslist for one in my neck of the woods.

I can't wait to see the finished product.
