Title: Cash Register value question
Post by: loman4ec on May 23, 2009, 09:40:12 am
I have found two cash registers local to my mom. One is all brass and one is wood and brass. They are both complete but need some work. the owner doesn't know who made them but he knows they were made in Ohio. I can get them really really cheap. What do you think? Are they worth anything? Tonight he is sending more pics. Are these worth anything. I was thinking of selling one and keeping the other. I would lobe to have one. I know some are valuable but are these them?

They look to be decent. If they are cheap, you can always buy and resell. I saw a sweet national today that the guy wanted $200 for. I did not take a pic. I do not know much about cash registers. I say go for it, if they are cheap enough for your liking.

They don't look bad, especially if you could polish up the brass on them.  The value in cash registers is in the very fancy ones with a great deal of decoration to them.  These later ones don't have much collector appeal, you would have to find a shop looking for an old register to use.  I have seen some of the more common, very detailed Nationals go for $300.  Hope that helps a bit.

Save your money Josh.....I can't see making a profit even if you got the cash
registers for free.
They don't play music and don't vend pop or popcorn...not a hot gameroom item
