Title: picture question. Do you all want to see them?
Post by: loman4ec on May 08, 2009, 09:26:00 am
My house when I was growing up was filled with jukes, pinballs, slot machines, gas pumps, Coke Machine, Pedal cars, and so on. We had a Sinclair Bennet gas pump in our kitchen growing up and a vendo 39 behind our kitchen table on one side and a Seeburg G on the other. When I go home in the next few weeks I am going to bring back the album my Mom made of our machines, cars, pumps and so on. I have a pic of our garage being absolutely filled with V44's when my dad took a huge boxtruck into canada and emptied a warehouse full of canadian 44's. Also one time the garage was completely filled will bennet and tolkheim pumps. You could hardly move. I know how everyone likes pics. Would you like if I shared? These would be the pics of what got me started. The time frame is through the 90's. I have pics of me at 14 spraying primer on out 57 nomad, and sanding the fiberglass in the wheel wells. I have pics of us restoring doing dozens of war eagles and golden nugget slots, Our first car a 57 4 door sedan, 2nd 1957 Nomad, Thirsd 1955 2 door sedan, 1970 Nova, 1962 impalla, 1957 2 door hardtop  which was a 998 of 1000 platinum winner at the tri Chevies internal show. I was thinking of making a photo album of this if you all may be interested. If not no problem but there are some cool pics and some really embarrassing pics of me as a 12-17 year old working on cars coke machine and Jukes :)

Now that's a silly quesion!  Of course we want to see the pictures!  I can't even imagine a garage full of V44's!  And those cars would be awesome to see as well.  Sounds like a great environment to grow up in if you ask me!   :drinking:  And the embarrasing pictures...well, I'm sure they will be overlooked by all!   :tounge:  I'll gladly take one of those war eagle slots!  Now where is my time machine...

Thats what I want to do but I wanted to see if anyone wanted to see. Since its not my collection now it is my Dads collection while I was growing up. I am going home june 18th -july 8th and when I come back I will be with the photo albums to scan and post. At one time we had over 100 payphones, a garage full of sliders, Once I remember the garage had about 10 cav 51's wich were almost worthless at the time and I found a superball in the back cooling coil dated 1962. I still have that superball in storage. I am a bit different as I am one of the younger members so I grew up with my father working on these machines, pumps, cars, signs and so on. I really only caught the bug for cars and Coke machines. A good friend of ours did a lot of our work. His name is Hugh. He is one of the best people I have ever known. He painted a few of our cars and did other odds and ends with my dad while I was growing up and I fell like I was raised in his shop. Now me and hugh are good friends and he still is one of the best in the business. He even gave me my first machine. It was a Cornelius compact 50. It started as a refrigerator then turned into a kegerator. When I am back I will have a ton of pics to share in the photo album. I have had a lot of adventures. Since I have been collecting machines on my own I have had ovet 70 machines. I's say I really caught the bug. This is a great hobby and one of the best groups on the internet. thank you for all of your help and support throughout the years.

Well everyone I am back. I took all most of my dads pictures to Singapore to scan them and never got to it. I found the pictures of the gas pumps and all of the telephones but never found the picture of the 44's. I left the pictures in Singapore as they are my Dad's. One day I will get them back and scan them for everyone. Sorry for the let down.

That's Okay. Just curious if I knew your father. I remember years ago at Chicago there 2 guys there with a flatbed trailer full of 44's. Think they had 35 or 33 of them. Some were complete and some werem't. This was probably about 15 years ago. I think they got them in Quebec. Was that him?
