without the original glass take off 350 or so... I think it's available through Victory Glass for about that much. I like the G,,, that is the one I have, all original, paid 1500 for years ago. Title: Re: Value of 1953 SEEBURG HF100G?? Post by: Seven181 on April 28, 2009, 04:45:37 pm It's original but the glass has been replaced and it has a solid state amp and not the original tube amp. Also has a new speaker. Coin mech and everything else is original and it looks and sounds killer. Price is right, under $1,000. I am no jukebox pro, that is why I am asking you guys. I think I want it.
Title: Re: Value of 1953 SEEBURG HF100G?? Post by: Jim on April 28, 2009, 04:53:52 pm And should you want to get an original amp, they're readily available reasonable priced.
Title: Re: Value of 1953 SEEBURG HF100G?? Post by: Kilroy on April 28, 2009, 04:56:17 pm The purist in me cringes the amp was replaced, but if the cabinet is solid, the chrome isn't heavily pitted, and it sounds killer, grab it.
I'll have my G finished this summer, so I am a little biased. Oh, and to fill it up, oldies.com is where I buy most of my 45's, new pressings, most have 2 hits per side, and for 2.50 a 45 can't go wrong. Title: Re: Value of 1953 SEEBURG HF100G?? Post by: Seven181 on April 28, 2009, 06:06:10 pm Thanks Kilroy! Will check that out for some records. Jim, should I put an original amp back in if I get this juke?
Brian Title: Re: Value of 1953 SEEBURG HF100G?? Post by: oldskoolcoinop on April 28, 2009, 06:14:22 pm Another vote for original amp. Vinyl + tubes = sweet sweet music.
Title: Re: Value of 1953 SEEBURG HF100G?? Post by: BrianB on April 28, 2009, 07:35:30 pm I would definitely put an original amp back into it. They sound much richer and warmer than a solid state amp any day.
Title: Re: Value of 1953 SEEBURG HF100G?? Post by: bubba on April 28, 2009, 09:27:41 pm Original amp... definitely...
Title: Re: Value of 1953 SEEBURG HF100G?? Post by: bcharlton on April 29, 2009, 01:02:07 pm $1000 is my limit for an unrestored Seeburg 100g. Make sure you have the original amp for it. I have one in lots of pieces in my warehouse so let me know if you are missing anything.
Good luck, BrianC Title: Re: Value of 1953 SEEBURG HF100G?? Post by: Kilroy on April 29, 2009, 02:41:29 pm k I gotta ask,
does it have the original chrome pilasters? Purist or not, the animation units are so worth rinstalling Title: Re: Value of 1953 SEEBURG HF100G?? Post by: Jim on April 29, 2009, 08:15:45 pm Coming back in a little late, but you've heard from others that the original amp is worth acquiring! One just sold on greedbay for $75(I think...)
Here's the link: Ebay Item number: 230338721381 (http://cgi.ebay.com/MRA4-L6-Amplifier-For-Seeburg-G-Jukebox_W0QQitemZ230338721381QQcmdZ) I occasionally look for amplifiers with the hopes of locating a Seeburg Auxillary Remote Amplifier(ARA1-L6) and do see these pop up regularly, Seeburg G Amplifier that is... Title: Re: Value of 1953 SEEBURG HF100G?? Post by: Seven181 on April 29, 2009, 08:24:41 pm Thanks guys! I really do not know anything about jukes. I will take your advice and try to find an original working amp. If anyone sees or knows of one, let me know. As far as lights and stuff, it is all original. The guy just said only the amp and speaker were replaced, oh and a new needle!!!! :happydrinkers:
Title: Re: Value of 1953 SEEBURG HF100G?? Post by: Kilroy on April 29, 2009, 08:29:50 pm It plays now, so no worries on an amp, one will turn up. Manuals are readily availabler on Ebay, or any of the major Jukebox part shops.
The same warning applies to jukeboxes, it can get highly addictive. Oh, and welcome to the Hot Wax club! |
