Title: Fine scratches on chrome.
Post by: Larry on April 11, 2009, 09:14:36 pm
I am taking apart a nut machine and the chrome front has some light scratches on it from a paper towel that I was using on the front door.  I should have used a microfiber cloth, but I didn't.  The scratches ressemble the scratches made by a scotch brite red pad.  Very fine.

I went to the store to look for polishing compounds and the only ones that I found were tripoli, white, and red rouge.  They were all for polishing.  Nothing about scratch removing.
I also looked at car chrome polish and they were all basically just a polish not a scratch remover.

Next step, went to the internet and found one person using "Mothers" chrome polish with 0000 steel wool.

Any suggestions?

Any success stories??

Thanks,

Larry
