Title: Pull Lever
Post by: David D on April 08, 2009, 08:05:59 pm
Does anyone happen to have extra parts for a National Cigarette machine?  I'm looking for one pull lever, I attached a photo below.   I checked a couple machine shops and can get the part fabricated for $95, does this seem reasonable? It seems a bit high to me but I'm not familiar with machining processes/costs.

Thanks-David

I think thats rather cheap. For a special one off part thats not too bad

I wouldn't rush into - even though it is, like Josh said, a good price for a one off.
These are fairly common machines and I am fairly certain an interchangable part between several models.
One will show up eventually unless you need it right away of course.

David,

It is my understanding that the parts on the National Cigarette Machines are interchangeable between many of the models as the mechanisms did not change that much through the years.  What machine are you restoring?  Is it one of the older art-deco models from the 40's or is it one of the larger machines from the 60's?

I am trying to pick up a couple of old National's from a guy here in Michigan for parts as I have a 7 pull and a 9 pull that I will be restoring.  Let me know and I will help you if I can.

Hi Ya

I think I have what you want... It took me ages to find so I do hope its the right size...

Joey gave it to me a few years ago for a machine I had but it didn't fit...

Let me know if its any good to ya...

Wonder if this guy still has these:

They used the same style of knob, and you probably fit yours.  Since these
model 99/111 are newer could be in a little better shape.

Starting the Consuline series, I think, National started using pulls with clear plastic knobs.
They are to be tons of those just setting around, since the smoking ban (I just threw away a Crown cig machine about three week ago, complete)

I have been working on him to try to grab just one or two machines for parts.  He wants to sell them as a lot.  He told me he would call me if he was going to scrap them.  I will keep you posted.
