Title: Value of Queen's Scotsman Post by: collecture on March 08, 2009, 09:36:53 am Does not look exactly like the SMC file photos under Syrup Dispensers. It has a larger ice access door it seems - does this make it a larger model or a later 1960's model.
No idea if it works yet! What should I ask and what should I look for? $150 + 8 hour round-trip drive Title: Re: Value of Queen's Scotsman Post by: Ltransam on March 08, 2009, 10:38:54 am Hi , Tom  For $150 GREAT Deal !!! The dispencer & Light up on it are worth that at a Minum . I have the largest Queens Ice maker I'v Seen Or other's have seen A CC-650A-1 .Which is pictured in the Dispencer section .I have some Info on All the Sizes . The Dispencers have changed over the few years As YOU know . The Drive WOULD suck :tounge: But If it the same size as mine (I need to see the door below the Dispencer ) Mine Has a switch on the upper r/side . I could Use Some Parts only IF !! your not needing the Ice Maker ?? Leonard Title: Re: Value of Queen's Scotsman Post by: collecture on March 08, 2009, 07:50:50 pm Leonard,
What is that louvered panel leaning up against the right side? Same color - is that part of the machine? Title: Re: Value of Queen's Scotsman Post by: MoonDawg on March 08, 2009, 09:19:58 pm It seems like a nice 'un-embossed" machine if you like those. I would venture
into this project if I owned a 60's era restraunt, but in reality Tom, this may be your next years donation to your kid's school fundraiser auction. It's cheap but what's it worth on the open market? Can you use it? By the way.it's ****** heavy! Just my opinion.......but you should recover $150 at least by parting it out! Title: Re: Value of Queen's Scotsman Post by: Ltransam on March 08, 2009, 09:55:12 pm Tom YES !!! iTS PART OF THE MACHINE !!!! I beleive it;s for the other End you cant SEE >> Title: Re: Value of Queen's Scotsman Post by: Ltransam on March 08, 2009, 09:58:53 pm And IF ?? It's the same size as mine ?? Glen is right Very HEAVY !! AROUND 400-450 OR MORE ?? That Why I have casters on mine . Title: Re: Value of Queen's Scotsman Post by: Ltransam on March 08, 2009, 10:07:49 pm OPPS   The door in the picture is for the back side not an end  Title: Re: Value of Queen's Scotsman Post by: collecture on March 08, 2009, 10:39:49 pm Well, I didn't get it!
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140304936043&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123 Glen - I would've used it at parties! Always need extra ice and I love the shaved ice type it produces (I think it does, but never seen one in action). Definately would've put it on wheels and roll it out as needed! But - oh well - I was not willing to go higher than $201 as $250 is about all I can validate to the wife right now with the 44 a little while back. Second one I've missed near me - thought this one was under the radar, but not far enough! Hope somebody here got it - still a good deal I think! Title: Re: Value of Queen's Scotsman Post by: collecture on March 08, 2009, 11:05:04 pm ...this may be your next years donation to your kid's school fundraiser auction. Glen, I didn't mind giving to the auction...it was fun to see what it would bring in a semi-open market! I'd do it again in a heartbeat and have thought about doing it again with a light-up ST 56 done up in school colors and a custom marquee. Title: Re: Value of Queen's Scotsman Post by: MoonDawg on March 09, 2009, 10:30:51 am Yes Tom, I'll bet people would open up their wallets to that!
Title: Re: Value of Queen's Scotsman Post by: GreginNM on March 09, 2009, 05:55:57 pm I don't blame you for wanting one of those, Tom. That is actually a machine that I would have NO problem getting past the War Department! There was a diner near us when we lived in Florida that had a generic one of those machines that they used for the ice for your sodas, water, and sweet tea. We both absolutely LOVE the little "ice poops" that these machines make (my wife gave it that name because of the shape of the little pellets, and by the way it just slowly slides out the chute inside when it's made). We would definitely have one and use it regularly around here! Heck, I'd ditch the ice maker in the freezer if I had a Scotsman around the house!
Title: Re: Value of Queen's Scotsman Post by: TheGarbageHunter on March 13, 2009, 08:18:46 am I know nothing about these machines.
I guy has this for sale here in San Jose. Let me know if someon wants his number. Title: Re: Value of Queen's Scotsman Post by: loman4ec on March 13, 2009, 09:53:16 am That is te much more desirable model with the better dispenser on top. That would be a really cool addition to any kitchen.
