Title: Embossed lettering added to a generic machine Post by: MoonDawg on March 01, 2009, 11:06:46 pm Got a chance to go to Mike Lady's "Man cave" with Ray again today. Tried to
get a picture of the reproduction generic picnic coolers he has, which were not offered in embossed versions when they were introduced. Instead of finding embossing somewhere, destroying a machine or cooler, then cutting, welding and filling, here is an attractive/economical alternative to emboss your machine. Start with a generic cooler or slider or upright, have your sign shop photogragh or scan your favorite logo. They copy and print it on thick vinyl adhesive of the proper colors and will provide you with several copies, so that many layers can be applied and built up to resemble embossing. Then clearcoat everything several times. All the coolers below were generic and he had them "embossed". I think someone has tried it before on the site... I'll search for that post.. it was a year or so ago...
