Title: GP BUMPER DODGEM CAR Post by: Ginger Prince on February 19, 2009, 05:36:23 am Hi Everyone
GP from England checking in now I can login again [thx Jim] just wanted to show you what i picked up before xmas last year its an old late 1950's early 1960's dodgem [bumper] car have contacted the company that made them here in England & they have confirmed date of manufacture and sent me some old black and white pix of this dodgem model operating in a fairground in Earls Court London in the early sixties had been sprayed sky blue all over its original colours were white on the lower sides and lower front and bright orange on the top with white flashes on the top front and left wing tops between the trim pieces. the seat is there but not shown bought it for my cellar buts its too big and heavy to get down there as access is narrow. really wanted it as liked the design now not sure to sell as is or send out for professional restoration or just smarten it up and sell, what do you guys think! Title: Re: GP BUMPER DODGEM CAR Post by: Kilroy on February 19, 2009, 07:31:16 am Okay, it's time to move the dodgem car up the gotta have list.
If room to display it is a problem, I'd go the cheap route, clean it up, and sell it. With the cool toys market soft as it is, you may not get back the costs of of farming it out to resotre. But darn GP, that is sooo cool. Didn't Dave also land a dodgem car? YOu too can restore them, and tool around the countryside  Title: Re: GP BUMPER DODGEM CAR Post by: loman4ec on February 19, 2009, 07:38:33 am GP,
Is it possible to disassemble it to get it to the basement? There has to be a way. cut it in half and put one end on the wall in one room and the other on the wall in the other so looks like its driving through through the wall??? Just kidding of course. That is really cool. Like I said there has to be a way to get it to the basement. Its too cool tp sell Title: Re: GP BUMPER DODGEM CAR Post by: Kapri on February 19, 2009, 03:50:49 pm That is cool. Well if it won't fit in the basement (er, cellar) maybe you should drive it then! Mount that body on an old golf cart, add a few lights and get a license for it! Since this Peel P50 microcar is street legal in England I don't see why they wouldn't let you drive your bumper car! Title: Re: GP BUMPER DODGEM CAR Post by: MoonDawg on February 19, 2009, 10:01:23 pm That looks just like a 60's Chevy truck cab with a 1 piece window........
where did they put the motor? Title: Re: GP BUMPER DODGEM CAR Post by: Creighton on February 19, 2009, 10:10:42 pm Great dodgem car!! I'd put that in the living room :-)
