Title: light issue
Post by: zadd on January 26, 2009, 06:06:16 pm
I have a vendo 63 coke . That I have up and running, everything works and gets cold . Bottle light comes on , the change light comes on , changer works but when I put a new bulb in for the lighted sign it blew the bulb after quick flash of light . Checked all the wiring tried a different ballast and starter and a new bulb, same thing  :darn: Any ideas ?

That is a sign of a bad ballast......happens all the time. Try a third one.

Yep, sounds like a bad ballast (again)

did you replace the old ballast with a NEW one, or an old/recycyled one from another sign???

No I used a recycled one from some parts machines . I had three light units out of vendo 63's and thought that one of them would work .  :censored:  Looks like another trip to Ace .   So a bad ballast will blow a new bulb huh . I thought it just wouldn't light if it was bad ? I will try a new one and let you guy's know  :hopefull:  Thanks.
