Title: Westinghouse WE-6
Post by: mattfarmer on January 15, 2009, 06:24:56 pm
Hi guy's: I'm new to the site, and a first time owner of a coke chest. I need a little help identifying this Westinghouse WE-6, that I want to restore. My question is: are there variations of this cooler? The way mine looks, it does not match the pictures of WE-6's that I have seen pictures of. It looks just like a wd-12. My WE-6 does not have the access door at the top, it has doors like a wd-12.
Any comments?
Thanks, Travis

Posting pictures will help ID the machine.
I can tell you that WE denotes a water bath machine and WD denotes a dry cooled machine.
I think the same chect was used for the WE(D)6, 10, 12, but the cooling arrangement inside determined the capacity (WD-6 indicated 6 cases capacity, WD-10 = 10 cases, etc.

I'll get some pictures asap. The tag on the back of the machine does identify it as a WE-6. But as stated before, It looks just like a WD-12

Here are the pictures. I think it's a we-6 master.

I would say you are correct.  Looks like a WE-6 Case Master to me as well.

Welcome to the group!
