Title: My First Buy of 2009 - Mills Candy Post by: vendo39 on January 13, 2009, 12:43:07 pm Well, I don't know much about this but I liked the art deco look to this Mills candy machine.
Now I just have to find a place to hide it from my wife for awhile! :tounge:  Title: Re: My First Buy of 2009 - Mills Candy Post by: Larry on January 13, 2009, 01:02:34 pm Very cool looking 8) I never saw one before. Do you have a picture of the inside?

There isn't a base to this machine but it looks like it's always been wall mounted.
It's small - about 20.5 " wide, 35" tall and 12" deep and weighs about 75 lbs. Title: Re: My First Buy of 2009 - Mills Candy Post by: Kilroy on January 13, 2009, 02:34:46 pm Too cool! I hope my first find of 09 is that nice.

Congrats! Title: Re: My First Buy of 2009 - Mills Candy Post by: oldskoolcoinop on January 13, 2009, 06:25:37 pm I guess they didn't want anyone stealing the display candy with that wire mesh glass. Way cool deco look! Nice find!
Title: Re: My First Buy of 2009 - Mills Candy Post by: mznb1u on January 13, 2009, 08:26:00 pm Nice Machine! I was watching that one too because I knew I was going to be in Cleveland yesterday and I would have been able to pick it up after my meeting! I couldn't bid though because I am still looking for a place to hide the Candyette from the War Department! And I picked up a Coke sign today that I also have to find a place for :oh:!
Nice compact machine and I really like the art deco design. I would guess that the glass was replaced later in that machine's life due to a hungry customer who didn't have any loose change! Very nice buy. :happydrinkers: Maybe Curtis can shed some light on the origins/rarity of the candy vendor! Tim :drinking: |
