Title: vintage machine dispensing plastic bottles Post by: vintage_car on January 12, 2009, 09:31:41 pm Are there any vintage coke machines that will safelt dispense the 20oz plastic soda bottles?

They bottle RC, 7Up, Canfields, Deja Blue, and a few other brands. :happydrinkers:

I look at the different drinks at Costco and all of the flavored waters, green teas etc would probably work. But why have a bottle opener on the machine if you are not going to use it! :happydrinkers:
I like dropping in the .35 cents and getting an ice cold bottle of Coke! Something about that "phfttt" when the cap comes off and the clink when it drops into the cap catcher that can't be replaced by a plastic cap being twisted off of a plastic bottle. :drinking: Tim :drinking: Title: Re: vintage machine dispensing plastic bottles Post by: loman4ec on January 13, 2009, 12:58:18 am The 20oz bottles are too fat for a USS-64. I cant remember if they work in any other machines. From my experience the grocery stores usually have the taller skinnier plastic bottles that will work. The problem isn't how tall the bottle is. Its just the diameter of the bottle that is a problem.

As for dispensing the glass instead of the plastic...I agree, the glass is much better, but this isn;t for me, it was a request from our local vet. They know I have begun tinkering with soda machines and asked if knew of one that would dispense plastic instead of glass... hence the question.

Title: Re: vintage machine dispensing plastic bottles Post by: vintage_car on January 13, 2009, 03:53:13 pm really... I never thought of the slider machines...can anyone verify?

Title: Re: vintage machine dispensing plastic bottles Post by: collecture on January 13, 2009, 06:32:35 pm Fun-Tronics carries a reproduction slider rack that has 4 selections (5 were on original racks) and holds the 20 oz. bottles - $285
