Title: Replacing Temp Control for WH-12T Chest Cooler Post by: Bones on December 27, 2008, 10:30:19 am The temp control unit on my WH-12T failed and I'm looking to replace it (picture and diagram attached). The unit appears to consist of a combined thermostat as well as a starter relay. I can't find an identical replacement, so I'm looking to replace the unit with a separate thermostat (non-contact) and a starter relay. Does anyone have a wiring diagram that would show how a separate thermostat and relay should be wired? I'm attaching a diagram of the existing wiring. Has anyone done a similar conversion? I'm told the relay I ordered has instructions, but thought I'd check to see if anyone has any pointers.
Thanks for any suggestions. The attached schematic shows how to wire in a separate 3 N' 1 relay, overload, and start capacitor unit, and a separate thermostat in place of the combined temperature control unit. I've also shown how to wire in a run capacitor, which will increase the efficiency of the unit resulting in energy savings of 15-27% (I'm told).
Hope this can help someone else. Title: Re: Replacing Temp Control for WH-12T Chest Cooler Post by: GreginNM on March 08, 2009, 11:18:34 am Cool! Thanks for the tip! :happydrinkers:
