Title: Working and complete VMC 27a - revised, available again $600 takes it
Post by: red-hungarian on December 16, 2008, 12:31:01 pm
I bought this machine years ago and just finished fixing it to where it works 100%. This is a COMPLETE VMC dual 27a. It runs whisper quiet and vends perfectly on a dime. I put two new motors and a fan in the machine to get it ready for a paint job restoration but I find myself with less time than ambition these days. The machine is SOLID with minimal rust. Some belt line cancer discovered upon close inspection. the Left rear has some rust through under a coat of old bondo. Still very restorable IMO but want to fully disclose. Again, it's rare to have ALL the parts present from the cap catcher, slug rejector down to the coin box. All she needs is some hobbiest's love to bring her back to her former glory. I will deliver within 100 miles of Chapel Hill for gas money. Asking $800, price includes $100 in new parts - door seal, fan shroud, new VMC logo, new SN plate, pricing decal, plexi window, sold out flag decal, unslotted bottle bezel screws.. probably some other parts I forget.

Thanks, John in NC

Sell it complete. You may not get a lot for it in today's market, but I sure would hate to see a nice machine get parted out. And layers of paint means layers of protection from the elements. At least in theary.

If you have a storage area you could hold on to it till the market picks up. Maybe a year or two. I have several machines I am hoarding, oh...I mean holding on to.

I don't believe your VMC 33 is going to fetch much right now. I am having the darndest time trying to sell a fully restored embossed Pepsi 33. And the cost of restoring a machine, which you have experiance with, well...it is expensive. I bought two Cavalier C51s for four hundred last month in Raliegh, NC. They are extremely nice and easy to restore.

Good luck

Tom,

Did I sell you a CS-96 a few years back?

No. I have been collecting for some time, 18 plus years. But it is only recently that I began to seriously hunt down these old coke machines.
