Title: Two More completed projects/Candy Machines
Post by: SIGNGUY on December 03, 2008, 12:17:13 am
Just  thought I'd share my two latest Completed projects. Stoner jr, just have some small detailing to it yet and maybe a mirror on the base? It's stocked and the Kids Love it, as seen in the photo!
Second is if my second restored Uselect it, the first one I sold and had just the plate ID tage on top, this has the scripted Chromed Lettering and I added some more chrome molding, plus actually had the trim peices rechromed... Stocked and as you can see my youngest "LOVES" this machine as it's just his size!!! Oh yeah, stocked with all their Halloween Candy as well!!!
Daddy's gotta pay for the restoration some how!
Thanks for letting me share!

John,

Great looking machines! I especially like the U-Select-It, that's really sharp! Great to see that your kids are enjoying them as well. I also see a Popperette peeking around the corner, are you up and running with no problems?

Very cool!! 8)  I think the kids are gathered around the Stoner to keep you from selling their Halloween candy.

I also like the paint choices.  Nice!! :happydrinkers:

Thanks for the comments... Yes the kids love both machines, and it's great incentive to get them to finish their dinner as I set a dime in front of them at the table, they know they can go select some candy out of one of them afterwards.
I too love the color of the Stoner Jr. it's a Real light minty green color that I've seen one some other machines and I really liked it and the letters are silver with a Dark Green border, gotta add some dark green accents yet to it but really like it..
The U-Select-it, actually is painted with Hammertone Blue out of a Spraycan!!! I picked up a base in Chicago that I'm gonna restore same colors and put it on down the road.
Yes, Brian, the popperette you see around the corner  is fully functional and works great!
It's getting tight in the old Gameroom! :tounge:

Nice work John - I'd like to find a U-Select-It sometime that is local.

I finally finished up a project too.
I bought a VCC off eBay last November that was complete, but in fairly poor shape. The chrome was decent, but the nickel track had been pried up on and the shaft had been cut off and extended about two inches. Other parts were bent too, but not the cover.
I traded mech work for a paint job with Randy at Nostalgic Restoration and he did a FANTASTIC job. Other changers I've seen, the painter just paints right over the coin chute - Randy kept the polished stainless steel. Just awesome job!
After cleaning up Bob K's coin changer for him, I decided it was time to tackle mine. I drilled out all the rivets that I could replace with my bench riveter and sent everything to be plated. I finally got everything assembled and polished.
This changer has a very low serial number of 1100 - not sure if I am going to keep it or sell it.

Tom,

I would definitely keep that one! Great job! I especially like the attention to detail on the coin mechanism and related parts.

VCC looks Great Tom, I should finish mine up someday, It's all redone on the outside only, the inside isn't even painted, but all chrome is redone... Someday I'll get to it..

Curtis,
I have no doubt that you would do it up right!
I was nice to have an original to refer to here and there. I definately needed my original shaft for my machine shop guy as a model.

John,
I got the rejector yesterday too...Thanks!
