Title: large lot of machines in IL
Post by: oscar on December 02, 2008, 06:03:09 pm
Does anyone know what kind of demand there is for these machines listed below? This guy in IL had these on ebay and needs to get them out of storage. I was thinking about buying them but most of them look to be late 60's or 70's machines. The price is less than $100 each, i know that's a good price but i don't want to have to hold onto these long. Anybody have an opinion please let me know. If anyone is interested in any of these machines please let me know.

Thanks.
,

Kevin

Don't turn his problem into your problem Kevin. $3000. for machines that are too
new to be collectible and too old to be used in vending routes is a waste of money.
Even if he gave them to you for free... after pickup costs, storage would COST
you over $1200/year.
Let's hope he finds a sucker out there somewhere.

I thought they might be too new but i haven't really got into the machines other than pre 60's. He wants $1500 but if i couldn't sell them than they won't do me any good. There is a nice cigarette machine and maybe a candy machine. Half the time i can't even find a picture of machines like these so i don't know the date of manufacture or how they look.

Thanks for the info

Kevin

They just sold a RC 81 on Ebay a few months ago for over $10,000. I would think this would be a steal ar that price.

I called the guy and had a nice talk with him. Not only does he have all of the 81's, he has two sets of 81's. One set is painted in original and the other is painted with white tops. He's sold several of the signs and has a storage area full of stuff.
He told me he asked his secretary to take some pictures of the 81's and she took photos of his basement. He said why did you do that? I'll have everybody in the country calling wanting to buy the signs. That's exactly what has happened.
He said he was getting close to retirement and wanted to start to sell off some machines.
He was a real nice guy and knew alot about signs and machines. Just talking to him got me wishing for one of the 81's that i don't have or his Pepsi light up. Only $40,000 and you can have one of each.

Just the two easy ones. Coke and Pepsi
I talked to him about the 7up. He said the guy that he bought it from had the shelves chromed. That would be a super nice machine.

are you just going for large door 81s? or you going to collect the Coke A, B, and C models as well? I may know where a 7up 81 is and possibly a few RC 81s that might be coming up for sale.

I'm not really looking for anymore Coke 81's. I would just like to own one of each but wouldn't we all. What are the prices on 7up and RC 81's? Do you have any idea?
