Title: Cavalier bottle stack question
Post by: coke_and_stuff on November 11, 2008, 09:07:36 pm
On a Cavalier 72 is there anyway possible to get the bottle stack to free vend? Ive got a customer looking to buy my 72 but wants it set up to where all they have to do is pull the bottle from the stack.

Yes! The little flapper bar attatched by the spring to the solonoid needs to be removed.
Maybe the locking bar has to be suspended too (or removed?)
Anyway, it's always possible to freevend any slant shelf machine.

I'd be cautious removing parts for a customer...what if they change their mind in a month or two? You have to have the parts so you can revert it to original.
No way he/she will accept a free-vend button tied into the coin return lever?  Push the lever down and pull out a drink. This way it is still all original when the FV switch is removed!

Buyer does not want a switch, It will all be in writing and they will sign the dotted line. The original parts will be included, They want to pull the bottle out without doing anything.

I see, all the time, folks asking about how to convert to "free vend". I don't get it. The whole nostalgia of coin - op stuff is THAT IT TAKES A COIN TO OPERATE IT! The sound of the coins entering and traveling through the mech, the sound of change being made and delivered. The signage lighting up. The "CLUNK" when the solenoid is activated. If folks want free vend, why not just get a refrigerator? :darn:

 :happydrinkers: what Ksst said

I have   change tray of  quarters and dimes next to my Coke and pinball machine.  Part id the charm is dropping the coin into  them. Yreah, I can set  them to feree vend, or rack up   credites, but where is the fun in that.

I have money next to all my soda machines as well... My video games are all on some sort of freeplay though. They get used too much. I'd have to keep a lot of quarters or empty very often...
