Title: Groetchen Twenty-One Machine Post by: davethebirdman on October 30, 2008, 04:37:40 pm Hi Guys Have been after this Trade Stimulator for a long while now and by chance I stumbled across one in an auction right here in England. I didn't get a chance to go to the auction, so haven't seen it in the flesh, but I placed an absentee bid and won. I pick it up soon. It apparantly works on old English Penny so must have been fiddled with in the past. The gumball mech has been removed. My question... Does anyone know any leads on this sort of machine. I'd like to get hold of the original instruction card (or a copy) and the gumball mech... Any assistance on this new branch of my hobby would be gratefully appreicated... Dave Title: Re: Groetchen Twenty-One Machine Post by: BrianB on October 31, 2008, 06:12:14 am Nice score Dave!!
I would check with Roger Hilden at http://www.crowriver.com/ (http://www.crowriver.com/). He is very knowledgable on all things gumball and/or might know somebody else that could help you in your quest. Title: Re: Groetchen Twenty-One Machine Post by: bubba on November 01, 2008, 08:35:07 pm Not a whole lot of info, but I stumbled across this website...

When I get hold of the machine I can then try and sort the old gal out... Dave Title: Re: Groetchen Twenty-One Machine Post by: BrianB on November 03, 2008, 09:08:07 am Great! I've just got one & it's missing the instruction card & surround, and the gumball vendor & door. Did you manage to find the parts? Title: Re: Groetchen Twenty-One Machine Post by: Creighton on December 21, 2010, 10:57:06 pm Can't help (well unless you need something shipped) Nice score!!

And an instrution card I managed to obtain from a guy in California. I'll look through my e-mails to try and find his detials. I did have a contsct for a chap that was repro'ing the gumball parts... But I think he past away some time ago. Still haven't restored it. Could do with a piant job.. Might get motivated to do it now. Worst case senario I can scan the instruction decal in and send it over to you. Or if you are in no hurry I can get the man that does all my vending machine decals to sort it out when he gets some time. I don't have the frame it fits into but I was just going to put the decal straight onto the machine. I guess ours must have spent some time together in the past if they are both missing the same parts... Did you get it from Coventry????? Dave Title: Re: Groetchen Twenty-One Machine Post by: Kapri on December 22, 2010, 11:34:28 am That would be great if you could get the instruction card made. I will, of course cross your palm for the privelidge.
Got it from ebay, couldn't get to Cov, as I was at work. Think it might be a few months before I get around to starting it, it's bloody cold in my shed at the moment! It needs a good strip down & re-paint, the wood has some damage & has been covered in some strange crackle finish, but it is 95% complete & working. I was thinking of making a frame for the instruction card out of some stainless sheet, if it turns out alright I'll knock one up for you too. Title: Re: Groetchen Twenty-One Machine Post by: davethebirdman on December 23, 2010, 07:08:47 am Hi Gary I have dug out the 21 instructions. They are very simple and on card. I have scanned them in but the file is too big to post here. I'll send them via e-mail to you and you can print it off on card. If that's not possible I'll get a decal made in the early new year. I'd love a frame if you do make one. Fair exchange and all that.... Nice to see you active here again. Dave Title: Re: Groetchen Twenty-One Machine Post by: Kapri on December 23, 2010, 11:19:08 am Yeah, that would be great if you could e-mail it to me.
Started stripping it down today, no going back now! Title: Re: Groetchen Twenty-One Machine Post by: Kapri on December 23, 2010, 11:50:27 am It's non original, and is in quite bad condition, think I'm gonna take it back to bare wood & laquer it.
Also, not sure whether to keep the extra coin box underneath, don't think it's original, but it's quite well made & fits well. Title: Re: Groetchen Twenty-One Machine Post by: euromat on February 02, 2011, 11:01:22 am Hi everybody,
I have just found this site. I live in Germany and I bought a Twenty-On machine at the Coventry auction one year ago. The machine isn‘t complete. So I’m looking for the instruction card and the frame and the gumball mech. Dave could you also send me an instruction card for that machine and please tell me how much you want for it? Gary can I buy a frame from you? The sides are painted red. Now I want to restore it. What was the original painting? Regards Andreas Title: Re: Groetchen Twenty-One Machine Post by: davethebirdman on February 02, 2011, 11:08:02 am Hello Andreas.. I can send you a scan of the instruction card no problem. Just print it out on yellow card. Its too big for attaching here so send me an e-mail b11rdman@talktalk.net Nearly bought that one at Coventry myself... Welcome to the site.. Its great here. Do you have any other coin op...? Is that an original paint scheme (blue/red) or just what you picked? |
