Title: Ideal 55
Post by: bmw90w on October 28, 2008, 08:42:50 pm
Hey guys I have a line on an ideal 55 pepsi embossed slider. The guy says he will take 400 for it. It has the coin mech, cap catcher, and rack. All complete and it cools. It will need to be repainted but no bad rust supposedly. Yay or nay? The war department usually doesn't get in the way, but she doesnt like sliders! She says I can have all the round tops I want, as long as they fit in the garage! So this must be a good deal for approval!!! Thanks for the help

400 for a complete and functioning slider is the going rate around here.  i'd grab it.  If it's a double dot, i'd run for it with cash in hand

It is a single dot he says. Excuse my ignorance but what does that mean?

Pepsi's has used "Pepsi:Cola" and Pepsi-Cola" The former example is known as Double Dot - an older logo and more desirable.

The double dot was used up until the mid 1950's when Pepsi switched to the single (Pepsi-Cola) logo.
Still an embossed  slider  is more desirable, at least in my opinion.

WIth all the parts and if it 's working, 400 is a good price... Go for it.
and you'll have to educate the wife that it STILL is a ROUND Top Machine, it's just a shorter rounded corner machine...
