Title: OD Jennings trade stimulator
Post by: Ginger Prince on October 22, 2008, 06:03:11 pm
Hi Everyone,

Its GP from England.

I collect and refurbish old mechanical slot machines,

nothing too rare or expensive, mostly jennings/mills/aristocrats

however have never owned or used a trade stimulator before.

anyway a friend knows i collect stuff and brought an old OD jennings
trade stimulator in to show me and asked me for my "expert" help &
i said i knew very little, so if any of you also collect slots etc and can
help me with age and rarity and whether any parts wrong/missing etc
then it would be a great help.

it states a serial number of 2901 on the OD jennings paper label,

2901 number also impressed on baseplate that mechanism sits on

cabinet on handle side has burnt on patent number [illegible...pat then some numbers]

it doesnt have a cashbox

works on x1 cent beautifully smoothly

reel symbols are old cigarette brands, labels are oily but not torn

locks and keys are replacements

metal housing has been repainted in silver.

is the cast cup on the handle side just for coin return or was it used for free gumball?

anyway sorry for all the questions but its first one that i have had to play with and photo

they probably made thousands of these, but wondering what age and raity now and maybe serial number or fact on x1 cent dates its age

many thx GP
