Title: Soda fountain (outboard motor looking one)
Post by: Skeleton Man on October 15, 2008, 05:18:03 pm
Can someone give me an idea of what this is worth and what kinda questions I should ask about missing parts, etc ? How do those work anyway ? (I know they look cool, beyond that I'm clueless)

Wow Chris, you got some very cool stuff popping all around you.
It looks to be near mint condition, ask the seller if   the drip tray ( will hang  below the handle    is present, doesn't  look to be there in the picture . The colors are sharp, the lid ids there,  make sure the side and back not shown aren't cracked, dented, or missing medallions,   etc.

Even not hooked up, it would display beautifully.   Do you know what they are offering?

Haven't asked what they're offering yet. But if it's mint condition something tells me it'll be $$$

That one is late 50s'... made of plastic... so carful wif cracks and discoloring.
Also looks to have the cup holder and small grill missing off the front.
the small tank inside should have a plastic lid and rod/shaft inside that.
Price??... I have the older models metal boat motors that sell from $400-$500 on ebay....
Don't know if that is much help.... just look it over well... see if they have the missing parts.

Thats a Dole Citation Fountain machine, first plastic machine made by the company, often times the plastic houseing is cracked, and Yellowed, and sometimes the lettering is broken or cracked as it's plastic as well. if this is all good the unit can bring anywhere from 350 -550 for near mint examples...

They're asking $250 but I can't spare that kinda cash right now. $150 and I might have contemplated it.

Doesn't have the missing parts, what you see is what is there.
