Title: Letting People know what you collect!
Post by: SIGNGUY on October 10, 2008, 09:49:28 am
I touched upon this yesterday in my discussion about the Coke Cleveland Neon Clock that I found locally, simply by advertising at my office that "I Collect" Pop Machines , Gas pumps and related items.  I have a small placard on my desk with photos of those items that everyone who comes into my office see, plus I have this hanging on my wall.  I love old car art stuff, and this artist basically captured ALL of my interests in one painting. This print is called the "Junk Collector" by Dale Klee.  He does some amazing stuff with old cars and such but this one hit home as it has cars, pop machines, Gas pumps, old advertising and on and on and on.... just really cool old stuff... It helps get the conversation goings about old stuff when people see that as well..
His stuff is available online.. i havea few other prints from him as well.. very cool stuff and affordable..
Have a great Friday!

I'd get a storage storage rental for hubby.  Not to store is stuff in, but for him to live in.

That blows Marsha,  could you hang some of your stuff
in your store front ?  Would he compromise on some of the stuff.

My stuff you see there is at my work office  plan on
doing some other stuff soon.  I also have stuff in a home office
I can't do a picture right now but I have stuff in there
and coming soon to a basement near me a Vendo 56 .

That is only part of my basement arcade. On the opposite wall, I have a V63 with bottles of beer, soda, and waters, a hot air popcorn machine I got from TomfromNJ, a Gottleib CarHop pinball machine and my Pam RC Cola clock. I also have my small movie theater that is visible from the arcade and gets quite a bit of use during football season.

My office at work is very boring.. nothing exciting there..

Here are a few pics from "MY" room in the basement. This is my little hideaway. Its a bit messy right now, but I've been busy...

Very nice Ken ! ! !
I like Tempest; unfortunately, I sold mine some time ago...
The wife held the record in our house, she was unstoppable on Tempest!

Lets see... what DONT I collect....

Here is my 68 Olds Cutlass S 2 door post.

I have a basement arcade with coin operated games from the 20s through the 90s.

I collect antique stationary gas engines, sometimes called hit and miss engines.

I have owned over 100 classic pontiacs.

I have a single lowly Coke machine.

I have a collectors attention span of about four minutes... And, as you can see, NONE of my hobbies are light. I keep telling my wife that my next hobby will be stamp collecting because it is much easier on my back.
