Title: Light up soda menu letter measurements needed
Post by: pinballdude on September 21, 2008, 01:19:24 pm
Does anyone have a lightup menu that uses letters printed on clear plastic?
I need the measurement of the plastic the letter is printed on.
The slot that accepts the letters is about 1 1/2 inches but the letters "bowed out"
so I was wondering how much more length is needed to make them "bow".
Don't know if 1/4 inch is enough.
I have 2 signs and want the sign shop to make some menu items to put on it.
Thanks
Terry

       I have a non-lightup menu board with 2 1/2" slots and use 3" letters.

Why not cut pieces of cardboard to size and see what fits best?

I used my computer to print a full page of the words needed on
the menu, then had the sheet laminated at the copy store and I cut
into strips to fit.
Here is a picture through the window

Or you could put them on overhead transparencies and cut them to the size that you want.  You can buy the ones that you can run through a laser printer, or you could have your local copy shop run them through a copier from your ink jet copy.
