Post by: Coke Head on August 28, 2008, 08:26:52 pm
 :help:
Could some one tell me would a relay on the ven motor cause my machine to
1. coin changer not to work properly and
or not at all   :darn:
2. Would it not ven if coin falls and nothing happens when I make a selection
meaning no movement at all from any button I push?
3 Do the ven motors have to be aliened in any way also to make everything work?
Thanks to all who can help.
Here's a picture of my machine. Dis-regard the little note on plug Can someone also tell me if it looks
like a V185

Some can vendors need to have a minimum number of cans in each & every column in order to allow the coinmech to accept coins. you can bypass the coinmech as folows for tetsting the vending circut of the machine.

unplug the coinmech & identify which pins are number 1 & 2 , this is the line voltage input to power the coinmech. in other words, you should have 120-Volts across pins No. 1 & 2. coming out of the female "Jones" socket.  No. is "hot" & No. 2 is "neutral"

Next Identify Pin No. 3; This is the signal line that the coinmech uses to set the vend relay to enable a selection to be made.  if you use a piece of insulated wire with the ends stripped CAREFULLY insert one end into Pin No. 1 (socket) of the  female jones socket & then touch the other end into pin (socket) No. 3 , this will simulate the coinmech accepting a coin, now see if you can select & vend a column. if it works, then you may have a bad coinmech, or a loose connection in the Jones socket or the plug isnt making good contact with it.

If it doesn't work. then we'll continue..........

Johnie, Disregard my last message.
Vend motors are ok I am going to try the wire into pins 1 and 3 in female Jones plug then try to make a selection  Hope it works?
I think I may have a short in my coinco changer
If I do the wire trick and no action  what else maybe could it be?
Thanks alot!

OK Johnie, I Tried taking 2 wires and inserting one of them into socket 1 and other into
socket 3 then touching them together until I heard a click simulating a coin drop.
Then I tried to make a selection but nothing!
I also tried to put the wires together but still nothing.
Each time i tried, I had to go down and push the relay switch on vend motor to
manual dispense a can to reset everything
OK, our next move? :hopefull:

Good, no we know the credit relay is working, so now it's somewhere between the selection buttons & the vending solenoid switches, does your machine have a wiring diagram on th einside of the door area?

the selection switches are wired either in a serial fasion ( also called a daisy-chain) , or they are wired in Parallel with each vending solenoid, see if your wiring diagram is simular to the attached picture ( which is out of an earlier model Can vendor)

I suspect a loose or broken ( open-circut) in the selection button switch harness, but it could be in the cancel switches too.  But first concentrate your attention on th eselection buttons. as you may be able to see from my sample diagram, they are wired through each other & control each columns vending solenoid, which in turn activates the corisponing motor for each selection/column.

seems to me that the  vending column section is telling the credit relay & coinmech that it's ibn the middle of a select/vend cycle, which would prevent the coinmech from accepting any new coins

Ok Here's some pictures I took for you of the wiring Diagram and
the back of the selection buttons
I looked over all the wires and they seemed to be intact.
I am ready to follow the next step.

Good , schematics help because every machines a little different, but I cant read the prints , they are slightly out of focus & too small, ( due to posting size restrictions here at the site.) sent me a PM (Private Message) with your email & I'll send you my email & then you can download the full size photos of the wiring diagrams ( with may be a little sharper focus)
