Title: Coin-Op Scale in Singapore Post by: loman4ec on August 18, 2008, 07:16:13 am Well I found my first cool vending machine in Singapore. I don't think I will try to buy it buy but I wanted to show it off. I was going to dinner at Tony Roma's here in Singapore when I saw this in the lobby of the building I parked in. This is a really old building and is really quite run down so there is a chance it could be old. The whole scale is porcelain and the dial is in lbs and kg. It is Singapore $0.10 which is about US$0.07. I have been here for over two years and this is the first vintage vending machine I have found. This country is obsessed with everything being new so nothing that is outdated is kept and with 4.5 million people on a 17 mile long country you can imagine there isn't a lot of space. Even cars must be scrapped after 10 years (except luxury and exotic cars). I just thought I would share. What do you think is it old or just look old? It looks 60's to me ?????

Late 50's through to late 60's probably... You guys are always talking about what you saw when growing up well these are the scales I remember from the local chemist (Drugstore) They were everywhere... They come up on Ebay UK quite regularly and I have been tempted to buy one in the past...
