Title: Back from Auction
Post by: Sodak Bob on July 26, 2008, 04:32:46 pm
I bought a couple of things this morning.  The Nu Grape swihart clock is in very good original condition - a little flaking on the rim.  The Coke sign base is 21 inches and needs a good cleaning but looks good. A guy also offered me a larger base that he says is in very good condition. Any idea what the sign base is worth ?? They also had thermometers, clocks , and a few signs but I had already spent enough.  Any help on the base ?  Thanks

Bob,

I have seen that base sell before for $500 and up. Most of the time it is with the Coke Police Officer sign. Other guys on here would give you a better price or going rate, as they are Coke guys and I am not. I have seen these sell before a few times though. Yours looks nice.

So that is what that is...I remember seeing two of those in an old store when I was like early teen.

The lady that owned the old store lived in the part in the back and closed up the front. Gave most of the stuff away before she died, I got an old counter stool it's in my attic, got that for helping her shell butter beans.

Anyway those 2 were being used as door stops between the old store front and the apartment.

The old place has collapsed on it's self not much left but a roost for the chickens on the old place.
Sad.

I've got one,  mine was in pretty tuff shape and free  but I cleaned it up and it set in my office at work .

And Jaz. I would stop by that old place and see if there still in there,

Bob, that clock is really cool , I think you did real good.

Hey Eric,
Yea, I have been out for a while... Nothing new and busy...  No quikolds - but I'm always looking.  I had a guy who thought he may have a Nesbitts quikold.  Did they a Nesbitts Quikold?  Thanks for the coments on the base and clock....

Nice stuff Bob,
earlier comments are about right on the base value... anywhere between 150-225 I've seen them... I have a couple one on a Coke Cop Sign and another on my vendo coin Changer stand.
