Title: Surface rust
Post by: Vendo Guy on June 20, 2003, 08:54:40 am
Anyone have suggestions on a chemical and/or process to take surface rust off the inside liner of a V110??  I also have the same problem with a Westinghouse Standard I just picked up....

Have you removed the liner from the cabinet, which I recommend?
And are you planning on having the liner powder coated, hammer-tone painted or possibly cad/zinc plated?

With any of the listed choices, I would lightly sand-blast the liner and go a little heavier in areas where more surface rust is present; then proceed with the restoration process of your choice for the liner...

The same applies for the standard cooler although I found it better to have one made. Find a good sheet metal shop and they can make it from galvanized or stainless. I even think someone reproduces these type of liners...
