Are gum pieces in wrappers still being made for this kind of machine?

Wow Leonard that is really really cool looking. I also like the color choice. That is a really cool machine. Are they really rare? I had never seen one before you bought and showed it to us. This and your canteen candy vendor are really cool.

Very Nice Lenard... Have always wanted one and hoped to bring one back last visit
but nothing came up....

Are you able to get more knobs if needed?? I see them on ebay quite often but most have poor knobs...

Dave

Nice work Leonard ! ! !
I have a nice original Stoner that can be used to reproduce the locking bar since more than one of you need this...
Let me know how you want to proceed...

You can pick up Canal gum.  There are two Chiclet style pieces in one Canal gum.  The size is similar to the square gums of the forties and fifties.  I don't believe any other gum will fit.  I remember trying bazooka, but I don't remember if it was in my Mills, Stoner, or Select O vend gum machine.  Bazooka fit in one of thoses machines, but I don't remember which one.

I haven't looked at my Stoner for awhile, but I do remmeber the Mills and the Selct O vend each vended different size gum.  I believe that the original Chicklets compared to the original Wrigleys were different sizes.

The Select O Vend vended candy and gum.  Which leads me to another point, the modern mini chocolate bars are also a different size than they were in forties and fifties chocolate bars.  I put in Andes candies for the chocolate bars.

Jim ,
Thanks !!! If You can take a Good Picture & Detailed mesurements As you know I work in a Machine Shop & These Guys can do most anything . Execept paint  :censored:.I quess the only real problem would be the Pivot point . Is it Rivet Or Nut & Bolt ? If Rivet I'd have to order them .But I could Probley make a Couple for uS .

Hey Leonard,

PM me with you phone number, I think the best thing to do may be sending the locking bar to you for reproduction.

Here's a few photos...
Each locking bar is 4 13/16" long X 1/2" wide and 1/8" thick
The center link is 1 7/8" long and mounts to the back of the lock cylinder via one screw. I don't think it's a 6/32 but I can find out...
The back of the cylinder has two protrusions that the center link fit onto to lock in place. The lock cylinder may be a problem; however, your center link can be made to match any type of lock you purchase, just make sure it only rotates 90 degrees.

Hopefully helpful

Couldn't a regular ol Cavalier locking bar be modified to work??
Looks very similar - the lock seems more unique!

Jim ,
Wow !!!Great Job !!  Thanks for the offer on browing your"s I'll let you know If Needed .  The Center of the piece would be the Trickest ?? Because I'd have to find a more standard lock . Most I'v seen use a Square Hole & the lock is the same With a small plate that only allows it to turn 90 degrees Or Half Turn .
I don't think I'd have any trouble making Have the guys make Them Even to Factory Specks .
Will start checking A.S.A.P

That is why I thought of the Cavalier lock bar, but I'm sure you can make something work Leonard!
