Title: Mills 120
Post by: GreginNM on July 20, 2008, 01:22:07 pm
Hey all, what are the thoughts on this Mills 120?  It is only a couple hours drive from me.  It's a neat looking machine, and it's pictured in the banner at the top of the page!  I'm guessing it's pretty big and heavy...a worthwhile purchase?

Neat machine, but as you stated, it's heavy!
I guess it would depend on price if it's feasible to purchase...
Not many change hands so I really don't have a price range off the top of my head...
Is it working mechanically,,,?

I guess it doesn't cool.  It's listed on ebay at $700 opening bid.  Just thought it interesting since it's close to me.

They are Tall & heavy, the "Coke" bottle in the little window is a molded piece of plastic & not an actual Coke bottle, beware if it is cracked, or missing pieces, It looks like a nice machine, but without a working compressor, I'd offer $100 less, it's a cool looking model you have to admit. ( this from an owner of a VMC 310A)

I could've picked one up a few years ago for about $350.00.  It was out of an old theatre nearby.  It was in perfect condition.  I passed because of the weight and height.  I wish now that I would have bought it.  It was an all red one with the bottle in the plastic window. :darn:

I don't know what they go for, but my motto is if you like it, buy it!  I'd rather overpay on something and get it, instead of trying to renegotiate and lose it.

BUT $700.00 is too much in my opinion, if it needs anew compressor, plus you'd have to go back to an all red paint job.

I personally like the 2 tone paint job, and it may not need a new compressor only service, but I agree it is way overpriced! Even when the economy is in it's peak, a huge machine like this only
brings a few hundred dollars. Get his number and call him back when he realizes his machine is worth no more than $350.00......you might get it for less because the average consumer will balk at this size machine for home use!

Someone must like big machines, as it has a bidder at $700 (or else they have no idea how big/heavy it really is!).

I have one, it's a monster and makes me wish I still collected postage stamps.  The only thing I have that's heavier is my Mills 47.  But, if you are looking for something that dominates a room, this would be it!
