Title: Vendo 110 first timer.
Post by: tolken4 on July 17, 2008, 02:22:16 pm
Hi everyone... This is one of my first post so I will formally say hello.  Also, wow what a site!!!

Just bought a vendo 110 large door.  My first soda machine.  Seems to be in decent shape, not much rust, paint is not pretty, but all shelves are there, coin mech unfortunately is not there. I will post pictures later today.

So, I have ordered the info packet from the gentleman on Ebay and plan on looking at that, but I am sure I will have a ton of questions for this board.

Anyway hello and thanks again for such a great resource!

By the way, paid 100.00 for it... Feel free to tell me that is a good price.  But please don't tell me if I got ripped off:)

Have a couple of questions...

1. from the pics, what all is missing inside in the coin mech area besides the coin mech?
2. Can those items be found and how much am I looking at?
3. Are those hinges the original? They look a little newer that the era but I wouldn't know really.

Welcome to the site!  That's a nice looking V-110 you got there, and I would say a very good price as well!  Does it cool?  You are missing the coin mech and the vend mech for it.  The hole on the side of the bottle opener is where the vend handle should be sticking out from.  It is what you crank in order to vend your soda.  I'm not sure about the hinges, but one of the many other knowledgeable folks on this site will be able to tell you.  All the parts you are missing are available on ebay or from folks here, so you should be able to get it up and running.  You will pay a bit for the vend mechanism, but you bought the machine right and have plenty of room to work with value wise.

Feel free to ask many questions here!  Everyone is eager to help out in any way they can!  Again, welcome!

Greg

Welcome to the group!  If you need help or advice on anything you will find it here.  The members of SMC are great!

Careful--this hobby is addicting!  I have been here for 5 months and I just picked up my 5th machine!

Boy, Tim, when you jump in to something, you jump in with both feet!  I'm pretty sure my wife would kill me if I was collecting at the rate of 1 per month!!  Especially since I've been doing it off and on for the past 17 years!!!    :tounge:

Welcome to SMC ! ! !

The hinges appear to be original, they're stainless so therefore look newer than anything else on the machine.
Depending on how well the line tap was installed in the refrigeration system, the system may not cool as this becomes a place for leaks and failures...
The crank handle and coin mech are just a few parts needed to get the vending cycle operational. It's difficult to see but I don't see the coupler cylinder (not correct terminology) at the bottom of the vending rack and I'm not sure about the linkage and coupling adapter located inside below the glass selection door...
Congrats on your first purchase!

For $100.00 you bought it right, but this was one of the many 110's / 81's and 56's
that were stripped of their coin mechanisms and converted to electric machines so they
could accept 5 cents to .75. The bottle stack is missing it's barrel so probably has the
electric system installed and may be missing the door linkage as well.
This would make an ideal self serve machine........or you could sell the coin door for
3 times what you paid for the whole machine. Replacement parts will kill an otherwise great
deal!
Trust us..............more cool machines are in your horizon after this one!  :happydrinkers:

Greg,

I feel like Jim Carrey in "The Mask" - - Ooh, somebody stop me!

Actually, my wife has been great about the new hobby although I do have to slow down--running out of room!

The nice thing is that I have gotten pretty good deals on all of my machines and I am restoring them with my sons so it is becoming a family hobby!  She will draw the line if I ever try to bring a Pepsi machine into the house though--her family bottled Coke for over 4 generations so  :veryangry: Pepsi  :veryangry: is a four letter word!

Excellent find at an exceptional price. And yes, the parts are worth more then what you paid for the whole machine.
