Title: I found a Vendo V 23 in the paper Post by: spitzme on June 20, 2008, 09:36:17 am Hello All
I think I found a decent deal... Some folks were moving and needed to sell this, and I was the first one there. I paid 500.00 for it and I saw the receipt where she paid 1,000 for it 7 years ago. It has been completely restored and runs and cools great! It is now in the living room, next to my coke coolers.. and gulf gas pump! :o) Title: Re: I found a Vendo V 23 in the paper Post by: collecture on June 20, 2008, 09:55:47 am I think you did well on that purchase - neat little machines!

Congrats! Title: Re: I found a Vendo V 23 in the paper Post by: BryanH on June 20, 2008, 01:17:18 pm Not an expert by any means... but, I think you got a great deal.
I sold a working, but unfinished, deluxe for $650 in Dec 2005. At the time I was told by the person buying it (a member on this board) that it was a steal. He knew I bought it for $500 and gave me a $150 for turning it around to him. Can't remember exact amounts but he had been seeing prices > $1000 for unfinished machines. Deluxe or Standard cabinet and either a Deluxe or Standard top. The tops had different bottle door knobs, different coin mechs (Standard mech had two gears; Deluxe had three gears) and different locks (the Deluxe top had a little lift handle next to the lock; Standard had just a lock). The Deluxe cabinet (both had the embossed sign) had chrome bezels and a chrome storage door handle and 'ICE COLD' embossed at the bottom.
This is all according to my original V-23 (Model A23A5 & A23B5) S&P manual. I have also seen some other models that don't have the star handle. On that model, I think you put your money in and physically rotated the top to the next drink. I really can't think of another machine that has so many variations. What you have is a Deluxe cabinet and a Standard top. Not much value difference that I have seen. I have a Standard cabinet and a Deluxe top model Title: Re: I found a Vendo V 23 in the paper Post by: spitzme on June 20, 2008, 08:20:55 pm Thanks so much for the info!
