I saw that one last night and was highly intrigued!!  Even if it's fantasy, what a great idea to do for a unique machine for the collection.  I am, however, curious if these were really made.  It's definitely located (TX) where they would be if they were made.

The seller even states it has a larger drum to accomadate the larger bottles...

Where is that stated?

I can't see how you could do that! There is a shelf that the drum assembly rests on which would have to be lowered interfereing with the storage door and/or the coils.

Seller states they had it repainted 10 years ago. My guess is that it was originally Coke and they had it repainted it in DP.

Notice that there is no disk liner - DP bottles are about 1/4" taller than Coke bottles (at least the original bottles) and I bet they had to leave the disc liner off to accommodate for the increased bottle height.

Tom - He says it in the Q & A bit... Mentions that the tub is deeper so you are probably right...

OK - sorry didn't look that far!
That's all that's been done to it - it is not deeper as stated.

So, I'm guessing the "all original, not restored" refers to everything except the new paint job and the change from Coke to Dr. Pepper?!?   Hmmmm, amazing what you can do with words!  I still like it...

Vendo in the 1940's ands 50's was exclusively Coca Cola,  and while it is a a different twist that does rate on my cool factor scale,  i can't tell if the seller is intentionally misleading  the machine as an original, or  was purchased it as is, and was told it it came from the factory this way

My guess is he bought it this way from some one who had it redone in the DP scheme.  Or, it could be one of those machines where another brand "hijacked" the machine and painted it to their colors.  This is similar to those Cavalier 51s with the Pepsi signs screwed over the Coke embossing.

I would have to agree with Wayne as Vendo did not manufacture machines for DP, especially during the production years of the V-23

Just came across this old post while looking at V-23 machines.  Never saw the machine in this post, but this may be the same machine for sale again as it's out of TX.
