Title: Rubber gasket trim for Quikold Coolers
Post by: Eric on May 09, 2008, 07:44:42 pm
Well.. I'm trying to get this cooler restored and talking with both Steves
(Funtronics and SodaJerk Works) neither have the gasket. I called a company
that has given me a quote of a one time tooling charge of $475. then
Cooler Door Seal -------    300 ft. min. $ 1.08 ft.
50 duro black EPDM ----    500 ft.        $ 1.00 ft.
                                    1000 ft.       $   .85 ft.

One Time Tooling Charge                      $ 475.00

that's the quote there... Anyway I'm asking if there are any guys here
that have Quikolds (and I know there are a few) if anyone would be interested
in going in with me.... I've talked with a collector that I don't think hangs out here
and he said he'd chip in and I want to talk to the Steves to see if there would be
any interest.... I am willing to send them a good piece to make exact. the gasket
on my 7up is in great shape , the gasket on the Nichol Kola... shot....
there is a little difference in the design and shape.... but nothing out there at all
that would work... so I would have to make different metal brackets for the NK cooler
but I think it worth it... so if there is any interest reply to this or PM me.
thanks folks..

Eric... not sure where you got your quote from... I've used these people before to make some cylinder cups for us at work and they are fairly reasonable. That setup charge seems a bit high..

Thanks I'll check them out.. I've only ask a few... Don't seem to care since it's not a big job...
But I really want the right type of gasket... So I'll keep asking...
thanks again.... But would like to know if there are others out there that would want to go
in with me... I won't need 300 feet of gasket! :Oo: :oh:
