Title: 7 Up Machine Post by: Jim on December 01, 2001, 10:27:05 am George,
Quote: they did NOT only make machiness for coke Confuses me... Vendorlator manufactured machines for various soda companies... It was Vendo for one that only manufactured machines/coolers for Coca-Cola in the earlier years. As for a date on your machine, Nick... I believe these were produced from '59 - '62 but don't quote me on that... What is unique is that you have the more unusual coin entry plate that is smaller than the typical one. Title: 7 Up Machine Post by: on November 28, 2001, 09:32:24 pm I recently bought an old 7 Up Bottle Machine. I don't know anything about these machines so I am asking if anybody could tell me how I can find out the year my
machine was built and what it might be worth. The cowel tag says "Vendorlator MFG. Co. and the model number is "VF81N-SM. Thanx. Title: 7 Up Machine Post by: audiobeer on December 10, 2001, 12:01:45 am Your machine was built in 1959 - 1960. They are exactly like the Vendo 81s except for the square body. They are not prototypes nor rare but they definitely are cool looking. I sold one on E-Bay for $600 with some rust through in February last year and saw a perfect one still on the original delivery pallet from the manufacturer being sold on Ebay in March of 2001 from Pensicola Florida. The reserve was $1200 and it didn't sell which surprised me. Almost all that were in use rusted just above the side vent on the right as you face the machine due to the poorly designed condensation drainage. I imagine if it was a Coca-Cola machine it would really be worth more. I wonder if Vendo and Vendolater merged about this time?
Title: 7 Up Machine Post by: audiobeer on November 30, 2001, 11:06:40 pm The "N" after the 81 tells me it's not a round top 50's machine. I suspect you have a square 60's machine. With a pic the one's in the now could nail down the date for you a little better.
Title: 7 Up Machine Post by: johnieG on December 18, 2001, 07:44:22 pm Hey I just saw one of these machines at a local bottlers plant,no guts in it they were using it as a 'fridge! in the "back room" there was no logo/brand on the face, they said they used to add the brand decal at delivery time, just thought I'd add my 5-cents worth. later dudes (PS and NO they wouldn't sell it too me sneaky2 , darn it!)
