Title: Find of the week Post by: MoonDawg on April 26, 2008, 04:51:27 pm Yesterday I checked the newspaper ads as always. Garage sale this weekend
someone posted "old coke machine". Well squaretops are old so I'm assuming they think they have a goldmine. Even so, it's our duty to check it out. Forgot all about it until today, but I thought I should at least go look at it and leave them my phone # in case it doesn't sell. It was almost 9:00 AM when I arrived, people everywhere of course. I spotted the machine and froze! Well it must be sold and waiting for someone to come back to pick it up? As I was inspecting it, the lady says "150.00.....needs a lot of work". I suppose a $100.00 offer would have bought it, but I offered $140.00. Her husband grabbed my cash and said SOLD! My project for today was to complete the machine I got from Terry but this thing just followed me home! Picture of both below. Keep checking your classified ads folks, as you never know when or where these things will show up. Title: Re: Find of the week Post by: GreginNM on April 26, 2008, 05:26:22 pm Awesome find, Glen!! Now, where were those yard sales I read about today...

Title: Re: Find of the week Post by: Ginger Prince on April 27, 2008, 01:07:26 pm first thought is how lucky you are.................... but your luck comes thru hard work and resilience you dont hear about all those times you go to the sale or the seller and its not even a soda machine and you have wasted time and gas.Its these finds that make all those other days worthwhile so its just good hunting and not good luck! regards GP in England Title: Re: Find of the week Post by: Marvin on April 27, 2008, 03:43:37 pm Awesome find. Every garage sale around here seems to be all the same stuff you mentioned above.

at a garage sale yesterday and called him about an antique Coke machine for sale for $150.00. By the time he got there it was gone  News like this travels fast in a small community of 100,000. Then I showed him the actual machine he missed! He was ..... :veryangry: Title: Re: Find of the week Post by: sodaworks on April 28, 2008, 11:51:57 am Great find Glen, There's still great deals to found!
Title: Re: Find of the week Post by: sodaworks on April 28, 2008, 11:53:31 am You should have asked the guy if you could have it for free if you could stuff it inside the passenger seat of a T-bird!
Title: Re: Find of the week Post by: RC kid on April 29, 2008, 12:09:33 pm Awesome deal. I am also watching the ads closely, but it's like fishing and I havn't caught a thing.

Title: Re: Find of the week Post by: MoonDawg on May 05, 2008, 11:23:57 am http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sgv/clt/666874959.html (http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sgv/clt/666874959.html) E-mail address is no good. Phone # works but message machine does not! Been trying to reach this guy for 2 days. Could this be some kind of joke? :veryangry: Title: Re: Find of the week Post by: Kilroy on May 05, 2008, 11:36:56 am If I was a betting person, I would say if you get hld of the seller, he will tell you he is out of the country, but has laeft the machine with Power Sellers, or some other fictictious company.
Try sending an email to the Craigslist posting instead of the personal email given. maybe I am to cynical today, but my Scam Alarms are going off Edit: I did reverse lookup of the phone number, it is listed on multiple Yellow Pages sites as Rockwall Tool & Cutter Service 138 S Valencia Ave Ste A Glendora, CA (626) 963-3311 And he also has a a Wurlitzer 1015 Cd bubbler for $1850, yeah, two higher end items waaaay below retail Title: Re: Find of the week Post by: bubba on May 05, 2008, 07:50:29 pm The CL link has been flagged.. :glare:
Title: Re: Find of the week Post by: SIGNGUY on May 05, 2008, 10:18:22 pm I didn't see the link, but was guessing it was a vendo 81 for 500 bucks or something ludicrous???
I've responded to a few of the Wurlitzer ads and got the , I am out of the country responses, it's in a wharehouse in St. Louis..... I responded by saying great I have a friend in st. louis who will arrange to inspect the machine for me and pay in cash once he picks it up. ... Never heard back???? Hmmm wonder why! :tounge: Title: Re: Find of the week Post by: Eric on May 05, 2008, 10:45:01 pm Ha! Yeah... John just let me know anytime a deal like that come up! I'll be

If your looking for a orginial bottle door handle PM me or email me at andersondart@hotmail.com. I had to part out a CS 96 a while back and I still have the bottle door handle. I think they were the same as the CS 72 right?
Anderson Title: Re: Find of the week Post by: collecture on June 10, 2008, 11:02:35 pm I've never compared, but I think they are the same as the Westy chest machines like the WD-5, WE-6, etc.
