Title: Re: Looking for VMC 33 parts Post by: mcjthompson on April 21, 2008, 04:05:39 pm looking for decals and a power cord replacment...looks like rats got to the one thats on there. It appears that the internal parts are in good condition. Exterior parts needed would be new door or skin. Thanks for the response. I already purchased the manual for the my VMC 33
Title: Re: Looking for VMC 33 parts Post by: collecture on April 21, 2008, 05:30:39 pm Decals can be obtained from Fun-Tronics (301) 371-5246. I don't think Soda Jerk Works has CC's blessing to distribute the copyrighted delcals.
I believe the VMC33 like is the VMC27A and has a built-in junction block right of the compressor. You can go to most any hardware store and buy a 3-wire 16 ga. power cord and wire. I used 3-wire grounded extension cords and just cut off the female end. Black in color is what was original. While you are at rewiring, go ahead and replace both fan motors and the t-stat - you'll be glad you did! Title: Re: Looking for VMC 33 parts Post by: mcjthompson on April 24, 2008, 01:14:13 pm Thank you for the info. My husband laughed at me when I told him I did a post about the cord. He says the same thing you do. Silly me! This machine was plugged in until about 5-6 years ago I believe so we are very curious to see what works and doesn't work. Found the manual and the sites you mentioned. We will most likely consider your your suggestions about the fan motors. Do you know if the refrig. units lasted long on the these machines? The coin mech seems to work great as does the lever and drum unit. Cant wait to actually put bottles in it and use it. Thanks again. Love the site and the wealth of information that is out there!

I have had only a few that do not cool (out of 30 or so machines) Title: Re: Looking for VMC 33 parts Post by: MoonDawg on April 24, 2008, 03:57:57 pm These old machines were pulled out of service, not because they stopped
working, but because the coin mechanism was only capable of accepting 10 cents. Inflation was not taken into account when they were built  |
