I don't think Tom sold anything there. He told Jeff, he was hoping for better luck at the show. I did see something Cool, going down the road. This was entering Maryland, on interstate 81. Don't see this everyday. Curtis, Memorylane Restorations.

Not too sad now that I didn't make it... Hope November is better! Title: Re: Any good finds in Chicago? Anyone go???? Post by: Larry on April 05, 2008, 09:31:36 am I stopped by, after shopping wife the wife yesterday, and the weather was as gloomy as the show. I did not go inside, $50.00 prevue is to steep for me. But in the parking lot there was nothing that striked my fancy.
They didn't even have the nut vender in the loby. I figured at least I would walk away with some delicious coated pecans and cashews. Title: Re: Any good finds in Chicago? Anyone go???? It must be 12 feet wide, and no oversize flags? Title: Re: Any good finds in Chicago? Anyone go???? Post by: Pat Pixley on April 05, 2008, 08:46:07 pm Wow it not every day you see a dinner going down the road, Curtis did you get a chance to see if they did take out   Sorry that was bad.
They probably had the chase car's with them one following him and one out front. Well I'm glad I'm holding out for Nov. , Hope PinBall at the Zoo is worth going :oh:. Title: Re: Any good finds in Chicago? Anyone go???? Post by: memorylane on April 05, 2008, 09:34:09 pm There was a chase car, one in front and back. I just though it was cool to see. I wish it was going near my house. Some town will be lucky.
Title: Re: Any good finds in Chicago? Anyone go???? Post by: dr galaga on April 06, 2008, 03:05:00 pm I went Saturday. There were a lot more people there than I thought would be there (sunny, temps in the upper 60's). Not much outside and not many soda machines/parts. There were a lot more records and slot machines. There were also a number of new vendors there, which was refreshing - not the same ole stuff over and over again. I picked up a Coke sign (I'll post pics later) some sheets of blank title strips and some bottle openers (Hamms and Schlitz). Not bad for a little under $50.
Title: Re: Any good finds in Chicago? Anyone go???? Post by: TomFromJersey on April 11, 2008, 08:44:26 pm Sorry for the long delay in responding to the post. First time I've been on the site since the show. Going away for a few days really throws a wrench into the household routines.
Overall I though the show was very poor. I sold nothing large in the parking lot on Saturday, only a few small things. I believe the main factor was the economy, both for the buyers, and sellers. It cost me a solid $500+ in fuel, $50+ in tolls, room, food, sellers fees. I figure about a Grand total. It's very hard to make that kind of profit. The high cost has certainly played a factor that there have been less and less sellers. Along with the whole e-bay thing. I didn't find a single item at the show that I really wanted, except a repro coke Cop that had already sold(damn). I did see a beautiful Vendo 27 restored in Dr. Pepper that was sooooo sweet. On a positive note, I made all my transactions ahead of time. I pre-sold 2 soda machines, 2 jukeboxes, and 3 vintage arcade games. I bought 1 juke, 1 soda chest(origonally for Eric), a vendo changer, and a couple of old Exibit Supply Arcade card vendors. I really enjoy seeing everyone and having some good food and drink. The Spring Show last year was pretty lame also. I think in the future I'm going to stick with the Fall shows only. BTW....I probably had the rarest coke piece, a Victor 1 door.
