Title: Jones Plug Question??
Post by: Seven181 on March 15, 2008, 05:25:25 pm
I have a plug that has a wiring issue. It seems that the wires from the two bulbs pictured here are shot. Does anyone know if this femail plug can be purchased without having to sotter the wires to the plug? Looks like I need to strip the wires and repair, but wondering if I need a new plug? Some please help!!!!!    :help:    :hopefull:

I have the plugs, but they require the wires to be soldered. I bought them from Mouser years ago for a harness at work. It's just a 9 pin Jones plug..... If you want one, lemme know. I don't have the socket though.

YES! I could use a new plug. I will pm you. I need to rework all the wires on the back and sotter them to the new plug.

Brian,

If you still need one, I have a source for Jones Plugs locally. They have slide-on terminals, no soldering to mess with.

Ken was going to get me one, but your source might be easier. Slide on one's are nice and no mess with having to sotter the wires. What do they run and would you ship me one or I could call the place and order it myself. I need the 8 plug/pronger.

Thanks!

Brian

They are only around $5.00 and I would be able to ship it to you no problem. At this time they don't sell online and they more than liekly don't ship unless under special circumstances. Shoot me your address and I'll send one off to you. I'll let you know how much it'll be.

When talking about the Jones plugs, even though we only use 8 pins, the "center" pin is used soley as an alignment pin but has the ability to be used as a ground and is still counted as a pin when ordering or searching for replacement plugs.
